Bristol based Fairview formed in 2014, recorded their debut EP Moonlight in June of 2015 and since then, have been prepping their next release or so it seems with a string of impending single releases, the first which was released on February 6th.

Describing themselves of ‘Moody Indie Rock‘, Fairview’s sound has come into its own with this release. That’s not to say the debut is sub-par, far from in-fact, it’s worth checking if you haven’t already so make sure you follow the links left at the end.

‘J’ai une âme solitaire’ is laced with playful Indie guitars and a light but prominent drumbeat, while the bass-work sits perfectly in the melancholic gloom the band emanate in ironic contrast to the up-beat guitars. Strong undertones from Post-Punk and to an extent Grunge poke through, just to make sure this isn’t just another Indie song simply looming over with it’s banality ridden instrumental backing over lifeless lyrics.

Banality and lifeless in-fact both being something this track could not be further way from.
